Location sheet

For our music video we had chosen to use various locations to shoot our music video. First location we chose to film was on Simmons Drive, this was because the street was fairly empty during the whole day. The next two locations were various park(valance park and central park). We decided to use various parks because of the different equipment that both of them attain so it gave us a variety of different shots to use.

As well as the outdoor scenes we have plan to shoot a band sequence. We have chosen to do this in our schools drama studio with the big film lights to make the scene look as professional as possible.

In the park, the first shot that we used was a long shot of the swans on the lake.

The first show in the second scene was in the Drama room and was a close up of the main singer (Destiny)

The second shot, which we used in the Drama room, was a long shot of the band performing so that we had everybody in the frame.

The third shot that we used in the second scene was a mid shot focused back on the main singer again.

The second shot for the first scene was of the coke and mentos being used in the park to create a reaction.

We then went to my house for the third scene and the first shot we did there was of everybody playing with the Nerf guns and firing at one another.

The second shot, which we used in Jack’s house, was a mid shot of the tent with a no girls allowed sign on the front of it.

The third shot, which we performed in Jack’s house, was a long shot of my cat being help up in the air so that everybody including the cat was in the frame.

The fourth shot, which we used again, was back in the drama room and was a close up of Sam on the keyboard.

Gaining Permission

Here is evidence of us trying to contact Owl city to attain their permission to use their song 'Unbelievable'

Editing 1

Today we implanted all of the footage from when we were filming in the park and in jacks house we edited it in. Roughly altogether it came up to about 50 seconds with gaps in between. However this isn't a problem as we already knew that this wouldn't be enough footage for our whole music video so we will be filming again soon. As for what part we will be filming next time we took notes about what shots we forgot to do so we’ll do that first before filming the band sequences.

Branding spice girls

Image result for spice girls
Branding is the process used when creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers' mind mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. The purpose of Pop videos is to promote the artist by marketing their image. Pop videos can help create a brand for some artist and bands as it makes it easier for the public to distinguish one group from the other. It encourages people to buy into the records and into their brand. The Spice girls had their own branding based on their personality and appearance allowing them to create their own merchandise such as dolls and on their own products.

The Spice Girls were formed in the mid 1990's by a family management team. Bob Herbert, Chris Herbert and Lindsey Casbon set out to make a girl band that would potentially become popular in a boy band dominated scene. Heart Management placed an advertisement in The Stage trade magazine for open auditions. After the girls were selected they were noticed by Simon Fuller at a showcase. He became their manager. Each spice girl was branded in their own way: Victoria Beckham became 'Posh Spice', Emma Bunton became 'Baby Spice', Mel C became 'Sporty Spice', Mel B became 'Scary Spice' and Geri Halliwell became 'Ginger Spice'. This massively helped the bands success, as with each member being publicly labelled as different from each other it made them more relatable to the target audience, who was mainly young girls and women.

On 7 July 1996, the Spice Girls released their debut single "Wannabe" in the United Kingdom. In the weeks leading up to the release, the video for "Wannabe". This music video developed their brands even more as you can see in the video. E.g. sporty spice wearing a tracksuit,Posh spice wearing a sleek black dress and baby spice wearing a white gown and her hair in pigtails to portray innocence.

Title: Its unbelievable

Tag Line: As good as it gets
Synopsis:
The entire song basically revolves around people re-living their childhood and doing things which they would have done as a child, this involves a multitude of different scenes of the main actors doing things from their youth such as watching VHS, climbing trees, Coke and Mentos as well as playing with dinosaur toys.
The original music video itself is entirely animated and done in a cartoon - like fashion, it is also worth noting that the entire song is very happy and upbeat and consists of everybody that is involved having fun and enjoying themselves.

Initial ideas

One of my initial ideas was to make a music video where it would be the main signer walking down a street then locations switching as he is walking, the locations would be switching to the beat of the song. The main song which we were going to go with initially was "1,2,3,4" by the plain white T's however in the recommended section when viewing that song we finally found "unbelievable".
The initial ideas also included us wanting to do something more fun than serious as we wanted to have fun when recording this as well as making a good music video, this help once we had found "unbelievable" as this is a pretty fun song and was pretty easy to come up with good ideas for.
